 TRENDS FOR WINTER SEASON OF 2021/2022

I'm rounding up my personal favorite trends for this winter!

Garments

Oversized knitwear

For all fall & winter seaons big knitwear sweaters & dresses is always trending no matter what, everybody knows that. But this season the thing is to to really take the extra oversized knit seriously. Many sizes up makes this oversized knitwear trend extra cozy this year. 

Cozy accessories

Cozy, fluffy, soft, teddymaterial & fake furr accessories has been really big this winter and is seen all over the place. It compliments the big whole cozy trend off the year and also with the beige, nudes, browns and all the other fall/winter colors. Everything soft and fluffy! From bucket hats, caps, gloves, bags to scarfs. 

Big puffer jackets/vests

Oversized and extra puffy pufferjackets and vests. The Rick Owens puffer jacket versions I think has had one off the most influence on this trend. 

Cowboy boots

Something a bit different this season from before is the cowboy inspired boots. I love this trend because off the style and the vibe that comes with it. There were a few trends this year inspired by the "western style" for example, including fringes in clothing pieces.

Chunky shoes

As always for fall/winter, the big chunky boots!

Layering/Styling

The "top to bottom" layered knit wear

The trend that was most likely mutaded from the pandemic lockdown loungewear from the past year. This trend means layering a full top to bottom outfit, preferbly in knitwear. The knitted tights or the flared knitted pants combined with either a knitted oversized vest or a big sweater was seen alot. Also layering a big soft maxi dress over some pants in the same material or high heeles boots. I think the more layers a outfit has the more cooler it gets. And to layer with alot off accesories and jewelry is makes a huge difference in a outfit. This trend combines both. The more layers, the better.

Details

Cut outs

There has been so many different versions of the cut out this winter season on pretty much all the clothing pieces, tops, sweaters, pants, loungewear etc. It makes a very pretty detail on a simple piece off clothing. One off my favorite versions is the "waist cut out" knitted dress.

Fringes

The fringed mocha jackets has been trending lately, also the leather jacket version. This one goes hand in hand with the cowboy boot trend. Fringes is also seen alot on bags as well.

Colors

Brown

Brown is my absolute favorite color to style outfits in. If I see anything in brown, I'm sold instantly. The full out brown color trend started a couple off years ago and I feel has stuck along with every fall and winter seaons since, and is most likely to stick around in the future as well. But this year the brown color was extra popular. 

Purple

The purple color I've seen coming around just lately a little bit extra and is said to be a big color for this year. The full one color outfits that also trended alot on the FW runway included alot off purples.

Green

This color has been popular for the entire 2021 and is perhaps continuing to trend for this year as well. This season all shades off green has been around.

Metallics

Another trend that is coming around for this years winter is metallic materials, sparkles and glitter, especially with bags and dresses!
